Frequently Asked Questions about ARCH

Frequently Asked Questions about ARCH

Q1.  What does ARCH do?

The ARCH (Access to Resources for Community Health) Program provides high quality user-friendly health information resource and services to patients and clinicians at the MGH Health Centers in Charlestown, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere.  Additionally, ARCH reaches out to communities by helping residents and the agencies serving them to meet their health information needs.  ARCH accomplishes this through collaborative projects, training, consultations (by phone or in person), and other health promotion events.  ARCH operates a website at www.arch-mgh.org.  The ARCH Resource Room is open to MGH Health Center patients and those who work or live in our communities.  Located in the same building as MGH Revere Health Center, 300 Ocean Avenue, Revere, Massachusetts, the ARCH Resource Room is easily accessible by the MBTA Blue Line Subway and buses

Q2.  Is ARCH a part of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)?

Yes, ARCH is managed by MGH Community Health Associates (CHA), a division of MGH Center for Community Health Improvement (CCHI).  The ARCH website is developed with technical support from the MGH Treadwell Virtual Library.  The site will be maintained and further developed through a collaborative process led by CHA that involves Treadwell and other CCHI departments.

Q3.  How often is the ARCH website updated?

Information and resources are continuously reviewed and selected for inclusion in the ARCH website.  We keep a quarterly maintenance cycle to post new resources or to repair broken links.  For urgent national or local community public health issues, we will post new resources immediately to respond to the situation.

Q4.  How do I request an ARCH service for health information and resources?

Please email arch@partners.org or call 781-485-6400 if you are an MGH patient or you work or live in the communities served by the MGH Health Centers.  Our health educator can see you by appointment or provide a phone consultation, whichever you prefer.

Q5.  How do I find information that helps me understand a diagnosis for myself or a family member?

Go to the section of Health Conditions in ARCH.  It includes many websites that contain such information, including www.medlineplus.gov for you to learn more about a specific disease or condition.  If you have difficulty finding the information, please email arch@partners.org or call 781-485-6400.  Our health educator will assist you.

Q6.  How can I request to have my organization linked from the ARCH website?

We receive many such requests.   Please e-mail your request to arch@partners.org with your organization’s name, website, phone number, and e-mail address.  We will carefully review your organization’s information and resources and will inform you of our decision.   We reserve the right to decline any link requests.

Q7.  Do you host advertising on www.arch-mgh.org?

We do not host any form of advertising on the ARCH website.

Q8.  Who can I contact regarding more questions about the ARCH website and ARCH services?

Please email arch@partners.org or call 781-485-6400.
